The Old Manger

The Old Manger – This room is not only part of the old stable block (hence the original manger still in the corner of the bedroom) but was also where sick horses were cared for.  At the entrance to the room is a steel hoist which was used to keep a sick horse standing.

The beautiful storks and gardens wallpaper is Jagmandir by Osborne and Little and the contrasting hexagonal wallpaper is by Mulberry.  The 6 foot brass bed is from And So To Bed and through an archway bunk beds have been beautifully crafted into a recess by our resident carpenter and renovation project manager Martin Chaplain.

The lacquered consol table and the bedside tables were made to our specification by Asian Art and the 18th century hand painted Chinese wardrobe was from Yarrow Antiques.  The wall light over the consol table is by Phillipe Starck as is the Tillee wall light in the ensuite shower room.
